Starting Up Your Device – First-Time Setup Guide

Welcome to Your Trëzôr Wallet®®

Congratulations on choosing one of the most trusted hardware wallets in the crypto industry. This guide will walk you through the safe and proper setup of your new Trezor Model T or Trezor One.

⚠️ Warning: Never use a pre-filled recovery seed. Only set up your Trezor directly from trezor.io/start.

What You’ll Need

Do not connect your Trezor until instructed. Let’s begin the setup from the official site.

Step 1: Visit the Official Trezor Start Page

Navigate to:

https://trezor.io/start

🛑 Always check that the URL contains “https://trezor.io” and has a secure lock icon in the address bar.

Step 2: Install Trezor Suite

Trezor Suite is the official desktop application used to manage your wallet. It offers full device integration, coin management, transaction history, and more.

Download Suite from:

https://trezor.io/trezor-suite

Step 3: Connect Your Device

Now, connect your Trezor via USB to your computer.

If this is your first time using the device, Suite will guide you through setup steps.

Step 4: Create a New Wallet

Choose Create New Wallet when prompted. This will generate a brand-new wallet using cryptographic randomness.

You’ll now be shown a 12 or 24-word Recovery Seed on the device screen.

📜 Write down the recovery seed in the exact order and store it offline. Never take photos or screenshots.

Step 5: Set a PIN

Next, you’ll be prompted to choose a PIN. This prevents unauthorized physical access to your Trezor.

You can change the PIN later from device settings inside Trezor Suite.

Step 6: Access the Wallet Dashboard

Once your wallet is created and PIN secured, you’ll be directed to the Trezor dashboard.

You are now ready to send, receive, and manage cryptocurrencies securely.

Security Best Practices

🔐 Your Trezor is only as safe as your recovery seed. Anyone with access to the seed can access your funds.

Using Trezor with Web Apps

Trezor works with many DeFi and Web3 applications via WebUSB or Trezor Bridge.

Supported platforms include:

Always verify you're connecting to official dApps and never approve unknown contract requests.
